The Selection Committee this year recognizes Dr. Wong Man Kong as an outstanding young researcher.  Dr. Wong’s research interests lie in the fields of Hong Kong history, the history of epidemics and public health, and Christianity in modern China.  As a young historian, he has an impressive publication record comprising 18 journal articles, 20 book chapters and 9 books by reputable publishers.  Most of his journal articles are single-authore d and appear in top-tier international journals, such as Monumenta Serica,Christianity and History in Korea, International Bulletin of Missionary Research, China: An International Journal, Studies in World Christianity: The Edinburgh Review of Theology and Religion, andDongbang Hakji. His track record of securing three General Research Fund (GRF) projects as Principal Investigator is the best among colleagues in the Department of History and among the best within the Faculty of Social Sciences
